Repair Hardwood Floors and Improve Your Home's Value

The effect that hardwood flooring has on someone’s impression of a house can often be subliminal, in our experience.  But it is a fact that if you repair and refinish wood flooring you will increase the value of a property.

hardwood floor termite damageWe tackled just such a proposition recently in the town of Euless, Texas.  Our customer had inherited her parents home after they had passed away.  She wanted to sell it but realized that the floor had never been worked on since it had been installed in the 1950s!

They were in pretty bad shape, as you can imagine.  Some of the boards even had signs of having been lunch for termites.  We removed those boards and replaced them.

When all the new boards were in, we sanded the floor with three different grades of paper, and then stained them with a natural stain.  After the polyurethane was laid down, this home looked like it had had a make over! refinished flooring

This increased the value of the home more than the customer paid us.  So if you are thinking about putting your house on the market, give The FloorMan a call.  We’ll tell you honestly if we can make your floors look better.  In most instances, we can and will.

A very interesting hardwood floor look. I imagine you could color the "cracks" to better fit in with other room designs. Thank you for the post
